Spanish for “little house,” the Camp Casitas
at our Macal River Camp
are the perfect jungle home away from home. Set on raised platforms, each with its own veranda and hammocks looking out onto pure rainforest views, our ten casitas provide homegrown charm, comfort and security.
Instead of electricity, kerosene lamps softly illuminate the forest as they have for centuries, while comfortable beds with fresh linens, blankets, pillows and towels ensure a good night’s sleep.
A traditional thatched palapa serves as the dining room and common area for socializing, games and recounting the day’s adventures while the local family that has been looking after our guests for years serves delicious meals that have become legendary. Enjoy sharing stories around our starlit campfires right after dinner.
And with clean, environmentally friendly shared bathrooms and showers, families, couples, groups and individual guests all agree – this is camping in Belize
at its civilized finest.
